Impact of enhanced personal protective equipment on surgeon workload and intraoperative patient outcomes

This work shows the need for targeted improvement to mitigate communication challenges associated with use of enhanced personal protective equipment. The data provide reassurance surgeons and patients that there is no negative impact on surgeon workload or patient outcomes from equipment in operating theatre.
